Brief

Create a white label solution for a video sharing website. A “white label” solution is a platform that can be integrated on various partner sites in order to offer video sharing services. The solution was meant to send and extract data from a superior level of processing (back-end) via an XML-RPC interface.

Client

Magic Internet, Germany

Challenges

The main challenges came from comunication via XML-RPC with the backend. Also, we had to use existing database data, but completely rewrite the interface: HTML code, Javascript and CSS.

Another challenge was the website’s language (German) since no one in the team spoke it.

Cache synchronization between servers, load optimization and balancing, external login validation, IM contact import and integration with the German team were also issues to tackle.

Solution

We have worked 20% of the time for HTML implementation, 40% module development, 20% external components integration, 10% implementation and 10% testing and bug-fixing.
